In honor of International Women’s Month, this episode features one of the newest female widebody airline pilots. Follow Pilot Xandra as she navigates a typical day as an airline pilot by joining us.

We frequently associate commercial pilots with men, as we do with most male-dominated professions, but women are flying people across continents and oceans all over the world.

Only 7% of commercial pilots in the US and slightly more than 5% of pilots worldwide are women.

She spoke to Insider during Women’s History Month about what a regular day at work is like and how glad she is to serve as an example for young girls.

Women do not have to be pilots in order to work in the aviation industry; they can pursue other careers in order to satisfy their enthusiasm for airplanes, engines, or flying.

Depending on one’s interests, there are a variety of alternative job options in this industry.

The careers of a Certified Aircraft Dispatcher, Air Traffic Controller, Avionics Technician, Cabin Crew, Aircraft Engineer, Airport ᴍᴀɴager, and ᴍᴀɴy other similar positions are some of the additional worthwhile career options.

The best way to establish yourself in any industry is to constantly advance your knowledge and credentials while accepting any difficulties that come your way. We should all be conscious that just because we are female does not give us any Uɴɪqᴜᴇ rights or privileges, especially when we are advocating for equality.

At all levels of aviation business operations, efficiency and effectiveness must be increased to keep up with the industry’s rapid expansion and deᴍᴀɴd. Iɴᴅɪᴀ as a nation is making considerable progress, and the aviation business is increasingly gender-balanced.

Women are now more likely to view flying as a realistic career option because of the women’s empowerment campaign, which has been supported by the ministry and other regulating bodies all the way down to training institutions.
